Just Banks - Bust A Move

COVER Bust A Move EP Distributed by OUR Distribution

Release Notes:

Unlike Just Banks´ last release 360 Degrees feat. Blaktroniks, it´s strictly uptempo this time.

The A-side "The Meltdown" is a bassheavy breakbeat stomper with some surprising slap bass/acid twist midsection action.

The title track "Bust A Move" (B1), a funky uptempo breaker, comes fully equipped with a catchy bassline, mind-blowing horn riffs (sax by Markus Ecklmayr from Parov Stelar´s band) and most importantly: the wicked vocals of K-Sun aka MC Kemo.

Recently Kemo stirred up the scene with his release "Global Enemies" on Marcus Intalex´ Soul:R label - a collaboration with Lynx. Here he teams up with his Austrian friend on a not so serious vibe. When Just Banks gets funky and cool, K-Sun gets funky and hot.

On B2 no other than Germany´s breaks wonder Boogie Army remixed "Bust A Move" and turned it into a killer electro breakbeat anthem with plenty of vocoder action in full effect!

All three tracks are pure and uplifting party tunes with peaktime qualities.

DJ Reactions:

"Both sides of Bust a Move destroyed my dancefloors on Friday and Saturday. Chris Nicholson´s head exploded when I dropped The Meltdown. Well done."
Chris Grass (Soulshape)

"Yeah man, diggin it! Sounds great!"
DJ Icey (Zone Records)

"Nice and funky - will definitely rock this!"
Ursula 1000 (ESL Music)

"Once again Parov Stelar and his label Etage Noir show us how much potential Austria holds outside of Vienna. Following his grand debut on Etage Noir, Just Banks is releasing his second 12", full of surprises. Excellent Breakbeat, where the original tracks really stand out with their beat, phat bassline and vocals."
Ed Royal (Innvision Records)

"Bust A Move is a heavy dancefloor roller with nice sax and strong, groovy vocals by K-Sun. The 4/4 breakdown in the middle builds up the second part really nice and it rocks on. The remix by the Boogie Army builds up much slower and uses less of K-Sun´s vocals. There are some nice synths inside that effect a constant move. An Etage Noir release definitely to be recommended!"
Shroombab (Resident Magazine)

"Real BANGER!!! Full support."
Funkanomics (Rocstar Recordings)

"Bust a Move is a brilliant tune! I charted it at 1 in my Chilli Beat Science chart of 29th October – I love playing this one out. The Meltdown is also a real dancefloor driver with a solid pumping groove – with a great vocal sample that works well on the radio – so I´ve been playing this on my show as well."
Clive Crask (Radio Reverb)

"This is good dance music on a very original house-Break beat tip! When tried and tested all the mixes worked a treat, as I say very original indeed and is a cut above the rest. This will be in my sets and charts for many weeks to come. 10/10"
Crispian Aldis

"Playing the extended version feat K-Sun, it gives Run DMC etc. a run for there money..."
Graham Clark (Maximum FM)

"This is great, I need another copy of this."
Reajuka Sharma (Producer BBC Asian Network)

"Loving this. Especially loving the slap bass action and especially loving the Boogie Army remix. It's getting reviewed in the Jan issue of IDJ."
Dave Jenkins (Dept Editor IDJ)

"This is a damn fine piece of breaks, particularly digging the Boogie Army remix - Will support."
Richard Thair (Red Snapper / Toob)

"Great radio track, will support on the show for sure."
David Cullen (Oban FM)
